Barnum drone application May 18

We just completed a drone application over Barnum Point this morning. The park is mostly dry at this point even after the rain last week, with the stream running down the center still barely a trickle. The mosquitoes know that small pools of stagnant water are largely predator-free, though, and are starting to make use of the environment.

Quite a few people stopped by to see what was making the loud buzzing sound, and got a chance to see our application drone up close and personal. Take a look at the attached picture for a peak at what our treatment equipment looks like. If you come across a sign stating that mosquito applications are happening in the area, or see a big red truck parked on a public park trail, it might very well be us getting ahead of a mosquito problem. No need to turn around, but do be mindful of the low-flying drone in the area, and give our pilot a chance to land before asking too many tough questions!
